We Know Just How Important Independence is

S.L.A.T.E. Family Services was founded in 2020 by Marie Fierro, a mother who wanted to share her experiences of raising a child with intellectual disabilities. After being told by professionals that her son with autism would never develop the skills he needed to live independently, Marie dedicated her life to educating herself on autism, behavior management, ABA therapy, and cognitive disabilities. Marie's own journey inspired her to create SFS as a way to provide the support and care that she wished she had when raising her son. Our organization is built on the belief that with the right tools and support, anyone can live a fun, safe, healthy, and independent life. We believe that our personal experiences, combined with our dedication to ongoing education and professional development, make us uniquely qualified to provide the best possible services to our community.
